J. Elizalde Tropical West Homeowners Association, Inc. (JETWEST), in cooperation with MEDTEK, conducted a Valentine’s Day medical mission on February 13 at the MEDTEK Conference Hall. Entitled “Alay Kalusugan Mula sa Puso”, the medical mission offered free medicines and medical services to the BF Homes homeowners and their household helpers. These included general consultation, blood test, urinalysis, nutrition counseling, and diabetes, eye and dental consultation. A total of 400 patients were able to attend the whole day medical mission. Throughout the activity, there was a health seminar conducted by Alyssa Luminarias, a diabetes educator and registered nutritionist-dietician. Ms. Luminarias discussed proper food nutrition while leading a healthier lifestyle. The event also featured the soft opening of The Diabetes Store (TDS), the first personal store for diabetes needs. The store offers products and services that will help people with diabetes check and manage their condition. The organizations’ team effort was a success. Moreover, the medical mission was well received since it contributed to the betterment of the health condition of BF Homes residents.
