On the evening of July 13, 2018, the red carpet rolled out on the Golden Pavilion Function Hall of Fontana Hotel, Clark, Pampanga. The officers, exhibitors, and delegates all made their entrance to this year’s Oscars-themed PAMET North Regional Conference. They paraded in their award-worthy attires, all ready to officially begin the conference.
Hours before, the delegates got a taste of the fun that was to come. The quiz show prompted much excitement and camaraderie earlier that afternoon. The exhibits also opened for them to begin roaming and browsing through the sponsors’ advertised products and services.
After these pre-convention activities, the delegates all made their way to the hall. The event was kicked off with an energetic dance performance by Pampanga’s own Sinukuan Dancers. The lineup of speakers – from regional director, Perlita Baustista, to the keynote speaker, Hon. Lilia Pineda – gave their welcoming remarks. After the sumptuous dinner, exceptional Filipino medical technologists received well-deserved awards from the PAMET North Chapter. The success of the first night’s celebrations made the delegates more excited for the coming day.
The second day began early for the delegates. At around 8 AM, the first of the day’s numerous informative lectures commenced. Topics ranging from multi-generational lab workforce to morphology in hematology were discussed by the nation’s top medical technologists. PAMET’s own President, Ronaldo Puno, held a lecture on leadership strategies for laboratory success.
All the while, MEDTEK and Man Pharma promoted their premier products in a joint booth at the exhibit hall. MEDTEK consequently featured its new line of hematology analyzers. From Hungarian manufacturer, Norma Diagnostic Solutions, comes the world’s smallest hematology analyzers, the Icon 3 and 5. With just significantly minimal 9.6uL of whole blood, these 3-part and 5-part analyzers can perform comprehensive blood tests in one minute. MEDTEK representatives discussed these new analyzers to interested delegates. The visitors also received exclusive MEDTEK bags and notepads as giveaways.
The festivities ended later that night with the customary closing ceremonies. For the conference to end with a bang, PAMET North also invited all the delegates to the Regional Conference pool party. As expected, PAMET’s North Luzon chapter succeeded for the 12th consecutive year in bringing together the med techs within their region. The delegates went home that night with stronger ties and more informed insights for their practice.
