Description
The ERBA XL-180 is a fully automated, random-access benchtop chemistry analyzer. Its software guides assay steps, manages sample processing, and displays data graphically. The system supports routine work in small to medium-sized laboratories.
XL-180 testing and workflow
- Up to 180 photometric tests per hour.
- Up to 400 tests per hour with the optional ISE module.
- Assay modes include 1-point, 2-point, Rate-A, and Rate-B. The optional ISE supports direct potentiometry.
- Up to 42 test items, with four optional ISE items.
- 25 fixed reagent positions, 15 flexible reagent/sample positions, and two room-temperature positions.
- Programmable test parameters, calculation items, profiles, and reports.
- Real-time reaction curve monitoring.
- Pre-programmed Levey-Jennings quality control tools.
Sample handling and optics
The analyzer uses a 2–70 µL sample volume and a 180 µL reagent volume. A sapphire syringe handles reagents, while onboard cooling maintains the reagent area.
The static photometer uses a halogen light source. Its eight wavelengths are 340, 405, 505, 546, 578, 600, 660, and 700 nm. In addition, a dedicated mixer offers low, medium, and high speeds to mix samples and reagents.
