December 8, 2018 – With the spirit of Christmas closing in, MEDTEK, along with the rest of the JARC Group of Companies, took the opportunity to give back once more. Selected JARC Group employees, with partners from Tumauini Lodge 251 and other volunteers, travelled to Tumauini, Isabela for our yearly medical mission.
In the early morning of December 8, our team made its way to the quaint town of Barangay Carmencita to conduct the medical mission at a local elementary school. Soon after arriving, the team began prepping up the equipment necessary for running the tests. Each team member went over their stations and duties. As soon as people flooded the room, the JARC Group team began to assist the crowd. The townspeople filled up their info sheets. After which, They had their blood and urine tests taken. For the results, they only had to wait for a few minutes. For those whose fear of needles got the best of them, our team made sure to keep them at ease. Aside from our services, other groups were also present in the said event. The Department of Health (DOH) offered a free dental check-up to the residents of Barangay Carmencita as well. At the other side of the school, a pair of local clowns held an entertainment show. They put smiles on the children’s faces with residents and members of the Tumauini Lodge 251 enjoyingthemselves on the occasion.
Afternoon came and one by one, the residents received their test results. The JARC Group team came to an effortless finish. The equipment was packed up. The room was cleaned. And our team said thank you to the people who helped us in the medical mission. In gratitude, the Tumauini Lodge 251 held a dinner party with its members and volunteers. Medical volunteer soldiers were also notably present at the dinner event. Everyone received a plaque of appreciation for the efforts made during the medical mission. Come nighttime, the mayor and vice mayor of Tumauini, Isabela dropped by, formally giving their acknowledgement to those who made the whole event possible.
