Mobile Screening for Republic Cement’s Returning Workers

In their efforts to keep their Bulacan plant free from the COVID-19 virus, Republic Cement became one of the first beneficiaries of our recently-launched mobile lab service. At 7 AM of May 14, 2020, we have readily set-up our stations in their Bulacan factory and have begun our screening program. Our testing team from the South Superhighway Medical Center includes one medical doctor, three medical technologists, one encoder, one team leader/coordinator, and a driver.

With this nuclear team and compact set-up, we were able to test about 40 employees per hour. The rapid 15-minute analysis time of our Innovita COVID-19 test kits allowed for our team to efficiently screen each employee.

To ensure the careful execution of the screening program, we collaborated closely with Republic Cement’s planning team. We’ve constructed a 4-step process for the program: registration, medical consultation, extraction, and sample testing. Throughout these procedures, social distancing was continuously observed. Strict scheduling was also in place to avoid overcrowding. The smooth implementation of the program led to us being able to test all 335 workers by the afternoon.

We wish to thank the administration of Republic Cement for their faithful cooperation and extensive support for the program. Their dedication to their employees’ welfare is highly commendable, especially in our current health crisis.
